English on Stage was founded as a traveling professional theater in 2005 with its first original English-language children’s play, “The Cuckoo Clock.” The initial reactions everywhere were outstanding. Since then, English On Stage has developed its repertoire for a broader range of audiences in order to put the spotlight on quality original English-language theater in Israel. We believe that live theatrical productions provide an invaluable cultural, educational, and entertaining experience for all ages.
English On Stage is the only theater of its kind in Israel, offering a rich repertoire of original quality stage productions, special events, workshops, and classes for all ages, year-round. Our productions focus on the story and its characters, and their connection to our audiences, providing English-language culture to all Israelis, young and old.
Performances and workshops are available for private bookings (private or corporate special events, schools and other educational facilities, etc.) as well as the general public at various cultural venues across Israel. English On Stage’s unique productions are performed by talented professional, trained, and experienced English-speaking actors and actresses, including 1st and 2nd generation new immigrants from English-speaking countries (mainly the U.S. and the U.K).
Today, English On Stage also proudly collaborates with other arts professionals and organizations, such as Habima National Theatre, in order to provide our audiences with a greater variety of quality English-language theatrical productions. English On Stage also welcomes interns who aspire to gain experience in the field of theater while contributing their knowledge and enthusiasm to English On Stage.
Our plays and workshops are created and developed with the professional and practical background of both Theater and Education. Aside from the entertainment and educational values, we find it important to ensure that the plays and workshops we offer children and teens include good morals and values. Enrichment materials are provided to expand and enhance student audiences’ theatrical experience.
We’ve also developed original English-only productions and workshops for adults, providing quality theatrical experiences for English-speaking adults as well as for those who wish to enhance their English in a fun atmosphere or simply enjoy a good show.
